24 April 2008 17:03 Memorandum of Understanding signed between Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation and General Electric Healthcare International.Memorandum of Understanding between Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation and General Electric Healthcare International was signed in Paris on April 24, 2008. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation, GE Healthcare International, and the General Designer of the All-Ukrainian Center for Child and Mother Health Care (Children’s Hospital of the Future) - BDPGroupe6 consortium. The document was signed by Vira Pavliuk, Chairman of the Board of Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation, and by Rene Prunier, Marketing Manager with GE Healthcare International. Memorandum of Understanding specifies key areas of cooperation between Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation and GE Healthcare International in the implementation of the All-Ukrainian Center for Child and Mother Health Care (Children’s Hospital of the Future) development project. According to this document, GE Healthcare provides a wide array of advisory services - on hospital development and functioning strategy, application of state-of-the-art medical technology, administration and management of modern child health care institution. The Company proposes medical solutions (architecture, equipment, and personnel), selection and training of personnel, consults on selection of medical equipment. GE Healthcare will also assist in the development of the international network of hospitals – partners of the Children’s Hospital of the Future. In addition, the company will conduct a comprehensive monitoring of the situation in the area of health care for children in Ukraine. The Memorandum also includes comprehensive support and advice from GE Healthcare during the term of development and functioning of the Hospital in the area of its every day performance and administration. After signing the Memorandum, Andriy Myroshnychenko, Chairman of Supervisory Council of Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation commented that joint efforts of the Foundation and GE Healthcare would make the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mother's and Children's Health, a.k.a. Children's Hospital of the Future, one of the best European health care institutions for critically ill children. BDPGroupe6 consortium supported the start of such cooperation. Project Architect Antoine Buisseret emphasized the importance of the chosen direction, i.e. consultations from the viewpoint of innovative medical technologies, in part, on selecting suppliers of medical equipment. After the beginning of cooperation, in order to implement its provisions and objectives, it is planned that the Foundation will sign an Agreement of Cooperation with GE Healthcare subsidiary in Ukraine. The development of the All-Ukrainian Center for Child and Mother Health Care (Children’s Hospital of the Future) is the largest charitable project of Ukraine 3000 Charitable Foundation. This project presented on March 16, 2006 encompasses creating in Ukraine a state-of –the-art health care institution for critically ill children. It is planned that construction work will be completed in 2010. Approximate budget of the project is 600 million UAH (120 million USD). This is the largest charitable project in the history of Ukraine. In 2006-2007 the Foundation presented this project in all regions of Ukraine and initiated preparatory works to begin construction. In 2007 General Designer for the Hospital - BDPGroupe6 consortium - was selected by an unprecedented in Ukraine open competition, an agreement on the development of design and budget documentation was signed. Fundraising campaign continues: at the moment the Foundation raised over 260 million UAH (more than 50 million USD).
