Ukraine 3000 Foundation Members Take Part in the Horowitz Memorial Awards Ceremony
October 29, 2008, the Column Hall of the Lysenko National Philharmonics of Ukraine hosted the awards ceremony of the Eighth Volodymyr Horowitz Memorial Young Pianists’ Competition in the Horowitz Debut group (age under 14). The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation is a co-organizer of the Horowitz Memorial Competition since 2005.
Expert with the Cultural programs Dept. of Ukraine 3000 Foundation Vira Kandynska greeted the winners and presented them awards from the Foundation.
Taking part in the Horowitz Debut group is a serious test for the young musicians before they enter the world of adult contests. Previous years’ winners successfully perform at leading regional, national, and international competitions and festivals.
The ceremony was finished with a concert, consisting of two parts. The winners performed, accompanied by the National Philharmonics orchestra directed by People’s Artiste of Ukraine Mykola Diadiura.
