First Stage of the Grants Program for Small Cultural and Art Projects Finished
September 23, 2008, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation headquarters hosted a meeting of an expert group, considering the projects applied for the Grants Program for Small Cultural and Art Projects for 2008-2009.
The total of 70 projects was submitted by culture and arts organizations from throughout Ukraine.
Within the framework of the project’s first stage, the applications were divided into six groups: literature, arts, theater, folk arts, music, and interdisciplinary projects. Seven experts took part in the meeting, each presenting projects on his/her topics.
The chief experts were:
- Yuri Makarov, Ukrayinsky Tyzhden’ [Ukrainian Week] magazine, Editor-in-Chief;
- Yuliya Vahanova, Contemporary Art Center at the Kyiv Mohyla Academy, Director;
- Oleksandr Chayka, Les’ Kurbas Theatric Art Center, Deputy Director;
- Oleksiy Dolia, Folk Architecture and Traditions Museum at the ASU, Deputy Director;
- Alla Zahykevych, composer, professor with the Chaykovsky National Music Academy;
- Vladyslav Pioro, Ukraine 3000 Foundation, Cultural Programs Dept., Head;
- Maryna Antonova, Ukraine 3000 Foundation, Public Relations Dept., Head.
The winning projects were selected through voting. They will be announced and awarded October 2, 2008, at a ceremony with the participation of Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko.
In the future, the selections are to be held twice a year.
