Participants of the Junior Eurovision 2007 National Selection Stepped Initiated Beneficial Contest
Participants of the Junior Eurovision 2007 National Selection, who are currently staying at the Artek International Children’s Center preparing for the final stage, came forward with the initiative to conduct a beneficial concert. This was announced at their meeting with coordinator of Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund’s Charitable Programs Sofiya Riabchuk, dedicated to charity issues.
The children decided to instruct the Ukrainian winner-to-be to address the participants of the Junior Eurovision 2007 in Rotterdam and call them to conduct a charitable action in a benefit of dispossessed children. They put their proposals in writing, to be complied in a single document and red out at the contest’s final concert.
Ms. Riabchuk described to the finalists the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund’s major principles and areas of activity and spoke in detail about its biggest projects.
The preliminary events and final concerts of the Junior Eurovision 2007 National Selection are being held from September 8 to 23 in Artek. Its co-organizers are the National Television Company of Ukraine, Artek ICC, and Ukraine 3000 Fund, with Glavred Media Holding as informational sponsor. The semi-final, held May 26, 2007, at the First National Channel studio, featured 33 acts, among which the jury selected 12 best. The little singers are preparing their acts for the finals, supervised by children’s creativity experts in Artek.
September 12, 2007, saw a press conference dedicated to this event with the participation of Acting Director for Musical and Entertainment Shows with NTCU Olena Zahorodniuk, General Director of the Artek ICC Serhiy Kapustin, and Cultural Programs Coordinator with Ukraine 3000 ICF Sofiya Riabchuk.
“It is extremely pleasing that the little contestants proposed the idea of a charitable concert,” Ms. Riabchuk said at the press conference. “Ukraine 3000 Fund will do its best to make the young singers’ proposal come true.”
The Ukrainian representative at the Junior Eurovision 2007 in Rotterdam will be selected by spectators of the First National Channel through interactive voting during the live broadcast of the final selection from Artek September 22, 2007, at 7:00 p.m.
This is the second time Ukraine takes part in the Junior Eurovision 2007. Last year in Bucharest (Romania) Ukrainian singer Nazar Sliusarchuk with the song “Boy Rock-n-Roll” took the eighth place.
