Ukraine 3000 Fund Selects and Awards the Book of the Year 2007
September 13, 2007, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund headed by the Fund’s Supervisory Board Head Kateryna Yushchenko took part in the Fourteenth Book Publishers Forum opening ceremony at the Lviv Krushelnytska National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
At the ceremony the results of the Forum were summarized and winners awarded.
This year one of the contest’s special awards was founded by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund. It is called Unique Ukraine and is awarded to the best book on history and culture.
The winner was selected today based on the recommendations of the Academic Council of the Book Publishers’ Forum. The award went to Personae: Essays on Historical, Political, and Cultural Figures by Yaroslav Dashkevychm published by Lviv-based Pyramid Literary Agency in 2007. The award was handed over by Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Oleksandr Maksymchuk.
The Ukraine 3000 Fund will purchase part of the pressrun to the amount of UAH 20,000 to be donated to Ukraine’s libraries.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and members of the Ukraine 3000 Fund are staying in Lviv for a one-day working trip. They have already been to the Ukrainian Catholic University, took part in the Fourteenth Book Publishers Forum, visited the Lviv City Communal Children’s Hospital, and met with Lviv oblast artists.
