The Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Ukrainian Center for Museum Development Donates Books to Lviv Oblast Libraries

September 30, on the All-Ukrainian Libraries Day, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Ukrainian Center for Museum Development passed over sets of Ukraine’s National Arts Museum albums to eight Lviv and Drohobych libraries at the premises of the Lviv Stefanyk Scientific Library. The presents went to the Lviv Oblast Universal Scientific Library, Lviv Stefanyk Scientific Library, Lviv National Ivan Franko University Library, Drohobych Ivan Franko Pedagogical University Library, Ukrainian Catholic University Scientific Library, Ukrainian Arts Academy Scientific Library, Ukrainian Printing Academy Scientific Library, and Lviv Polytechnic University Scientific Library.

Ukraine’s Culture Minister Ihor Likhovy took part in the ceremony.

In his speech, Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Oleksandr Maksymchuk greeted the librarians with their professional holiday, thanked them for preserving and developing Ukrainian libraries, and expressed his hope that the libraries would receive support not only from the state but also from the Ukrainian community.

As a return present, the administration of the Lviv Stefanyk Scientific Library gave some books to the library of the Fund’s Ukrainian Center for Museum Development.

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund, Fund for Developing the National Arts Museum, and Stylos Publishers are conducting a countrywide action presenting books to Ukrainian libraries. In the next few months, 180 national, oblast, and region libraries, including university libraries, will be granted six albums of the Ukraine’s National Arts Museum and sets of books on Ukraine’s archeology, history, and culture.
