Ukraine 3000 Foundation Announces Express Competition for Young People

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation announces express competition for young people aged up to 35.

To take part in the competition, you have to write a paper “My View on the Modern Educational Model in Ukraine.” The paper has to contain a description of educational issues, analysis, and ways to fight them, and general outlines of the national educational model.

The paper has to be written in the state language, up to 6  A4 pages long (font Times New Roman, size 14, line space 1,5).

Evaluation criteria – logic and integrity, independency, originality, and novelty; grounded and practical conclusions and proposals.

The winners will receive a right to:

• Take part in a three-day working trip to the World Intellectual Property Organization (Gneva, Switzerland) from October till November 2008 – 3 persons;
• Participation in the Artek Dialogs Annual Educational Forum (Artek ICC, AR Crimea, September 18-21, 2008) – 8 persons.

The papers and applications shall be emailed to konkurs@ukraine3000.org.ua with hard copies mailed to 01012, Kyiv, à/s 75.

Deadline for applications is August 20, 2008. The winners will be announced September 3, 2008.

Selection Mechanism

Two winners to go to Geneva and three – to the Artek forum will be selected by the national contest committee, whose decision will be made public September 3.

The remaining one winner for Geneva and five for Artek will be defined through self-evaluation. To this end:

• every participant has a right to vote once from his email account (indicated in his application form) and name three papers (from those published at www.novi.org.ua starting August 21) he believes the best.
• voting is to take place August 21 – September 2.
• personal voting and general voting results will be published at www.novi.org.ua,
• personal voting results will be taken into consideration only if the participant lists exactly three papers (no more and no less).

Only the participants whose works meet the contest requirements will be admitted to participate and take part in personal voting.
