Kateryna Yushchenko Takes Part in Planting a Birch Lane in the Kirovohrad National Technical University Grounds
September 18, 2007, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko and representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund, together with Kirovohrad oblast students and professors took part in planting a birch lane in the Kirovohrad National Technical University grounds.
The idea to create this lane has come to the Ukraine 3000 Fund members owing to the Plant a Tree social project, submitted to the First Ukraine’s Innovative Intellect Contest by third year student of the State Flight Training Academy Andriy Lohvinov. He suggested that every student, having entered a university, planted a tree in honor of this event. Considering that hundreds of thousands of young people become students every year, implementing this project would help to increase Ukraine’s green belt dramatically, bringing a considerable impact on the ecological, social, and economical situation. The Ukraine 3000 Fund’s experts approved on this idea, and a decision was made to start it precisely in Kirovohrad, the author’s native city.
Among the participants of the event were Head of the Kirovohrad Oblast State Administration Vadym Chernysh, Head of the Education and Science Administration Valentyna Prylipko, Advisor to Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Andriy Myroshnichenko, Director of the Scientific and Educational Programs Department at the Ukraine 3000 Fund Oleksandr Oliynyk, representatives of the local authorities and Ukraine 3000 Fund.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives are staying in Kirovohrad for a one-day working trip. Its agenda also envisages visiting the Children’s House and Kirovohrad Oblast Clinical Hospital.
