July 26 Winner to Be Announced in the Contest to Select Designer General of the Children’s Hospital of the Future

July 26, 2007, starting at 5 p.m., Kyiv time, the Ukrainian House in Kyiv will host a series of events within the framework of the procedure of the competition to select general designer of the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health, the Children’s Hospital of the Future.

At 5:00, the participants’ presentation will take place at the conference hall. Simultaneously, the final meeting of the Contest Committee will be held at the Small Hall.

At 6:00, the Contest Committee will announce the results of the two days of their work and name three projects which, in their view, are the best in terms of their architectural qualities and consistence with the medical task. The Committee will recommend these projects for further consideration by the supreme governing body of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund, the Conference. A strongbox containing the so-called Envelopes Two with the commercial part of the proposals will be brought into the conference hall, guarded by armed security. After that, the delegates will move to the Small Hall to consider the commercial parts of the proposals and select the winner.

At 6:30, the ceremony of presenting and awarding the members of the Contest Committee and Board of Trustees will begin. According to the generally accepted procedure for such contests, their names are kept secret until their job is finished, to secure unprejudiced procedure and avoid possible influence on the Contest Committee’s decisions. Members of the Supervisory Board, Contest Committee, and the notary who had been present at the meetings and certify the genuineness of the Board of Trustees members’ signatures, will receive gratitude and presents from the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund.

Approximately at 7:45 pm, the Conference delegates will return to the conference hall to announce the Contest winner. Thus, the company to become general designer of the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health will be selected.

The events on selecting winners will take place in real-time mode. The Conference meeting will be broadcasted on the big screen at the Ukrainian House’s Conference Hall. We ask media representatives covering these events to arrive at the location in advance.

Media representatives will get a chance to talk to members of the Contest Committee and Board of Trustees of the Contest and interview the Conference delegates and the winner.
