Ukraine 3000 Foundation to Hold Days of Ukraine in Europa-Park

October 2-11, 2008, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation together with Europa-Park (Rust, Germany) will hold the Days of Ukraine. The action was initiated by Europa-Park owner and Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador for Families Roland Mack under the aegis of Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko.
The cultural and artistic program, for the Days of Ukraine will include:
- Ukrainian pavilion, featuring folk arts: ceramics, embroidery, weaving, folk painting, pysanka Easter egg painting, forging, folk toys, etc.;
- Ukrainian cuisine presentation;
- Yuri Bilak’s Ukrainians: Wide Screen photo exhibition;
- Performances by folk and artistic groups;
- Cossacks amusements.
The program is being worked out by the Art Veles artistic agency headed by Taras Hrymaliuk. It is planned that among the participants will be the Drevo [Tree] folk group, kobza and lyre player Taras Kompanichenko, VV and Haydamaky rock groups, and Jazz Step Dance Class children’s dance ensemble.
One of the key events of the Days of Ukraine will be the Ukrainian party, to which Europa-Park has invited over 100 German politicians, businessmen, European Committee representatives, culture and sports people.
Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko, Minister for Culture and the Arts Vasyl Vovkun, Minister for Family, Youth, and Sports Yuri Pavlenko, Head of the National Euro 2012 Committee Yevhern Chervonenko are to take part in the Dys of Ukraine events along with globally renowned representatives of Ukrainian culture and sports: Vitaly Klychko, Andriy Shevchenko, Oksana Zabuzhko, and others.
Additionally, the Ukraine 3000 Foundation has organized a trip to Europa-Park for a group of children of Ukrainian miners who had died in accidents. 25 children aged from 8 to 15, coming from Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Luhansk oblasts will stay in Europa-Park on Octover 1-7. Their trip schedule includes a tour of the park, excursions, and participation in the Days of Ukraine events.
Europa-Park is one of the Europe’s most successful and famous amusement parks. It presents culture of 12 European countries in the 85 ha of its grounds. The park is situated 35 km from Strasburg, on the German-French-Swiss border. It features around 100 attractions and various show, with around 150 actors from 22 countries performing in them.
Europa-Park conducts charitable actions for children – victims of acts of terrorism, natural disasters, and technotronic catastrophes, as well as refugees from disaster-stricken and occupied areas. In part, it had organized events for Beslan children and meetings of Palestinian and Israeli children living in the occupied territories.
The idea to organize the Days of Ukraine in Europa-Park arose in the fall of 2007, during the visit of Europa-Park owner and Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador for Families Roland Mack to Ukraine. Also by Mr. Mack’s initiative, events were held at Europa-Park with the participation of Helmut Kohl, Gerhard Schroeder, Angela Merkel, Bill Klinton, Francois Mitterrand, Jacques Chirac, Kofi Annan, Queen of England Elisabeth II, and many other renowned politicians and celebrities.
