Yushchenko Insists Upon Criminal Responsibility for Denying Holodomor
President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko believes that criminal responsibility should be introduced for denying the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine (Holodomor).
“It is necessary to introduce criminal or administrative responsibility for denying the famine,” he said in a live interview with 1+1 TV channel Saturday night.
The head of the state recalled that criminal responsibility in the form of deprivation of liberty exists in Germany, Austria, and Israel for denying or “understating Nazism crimes against the humanity” and the Holocaust. “I believe this is a good example,” he said.
“The evil that happened in 1932-1933 should be called evil and nothing less. For denying it, one has to be punished,” the President said.
